Welcome to Typing 365's Privacy Policy. This document outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our typing application. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and that we comply with all relevant data protection laws.

2. Information We Collect

We collect various types of information to provide and improve our service to you:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, and account details used for authentication.
  • Usage Data: Typing speed (WPM), accuracy percentages, and practice session duration.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and general diagnostic data to help us fix bugs.
  • Purchase Information: If you buy Typing 365 PRO, we receive limited details from our payment partners, such as your email address, country, plan, order or transaction ID, and subscription status. We never receive or store your full card or bank details.
  • Support Communications: The content of emails you send us and any details you choose to share so we can help you.
  • Website Data: When you visit typing365.app, pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, and browser and device type, collected through the analytics tools described below.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for specific, operational purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the core functionality of Typing 365.
  • To generate your personal leaderboard rankings and statistics.
  • To notify you about critical updates or changes to our service.
  • To provide customer support and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • To monitor usage patterns to optimize app performance.
  • To process purchases, activate PRO, manage subscriptions, and handle refunds.
  • To prevent fraud and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

4. Payments & Purchases

Purchases made on typing365.app are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles the checkout, payment processing, invoicing, sales tax/VAT, and payment-related customer service. When you pay, you provide your payment details directly to Paddle, which processes them as an independent controller under its own privacy notice.

  • Paddle shares with us only what we need to deliver PRO: your email address, country, purchased plan, transaction and subscription identifiers, and payment status.
  • Card numbers, bank details, and other payment credentials are handled by Paddle and its payment providers and are never stored on our servers.

5. Microsoft Store

Typing 365 is distributed through the Microsoft Store. When you download the app or buy PRO through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft processes your account, download, and payment information as an independent controller under the Microsoft Privacy Statement ↗.

  • We never receive your Microsoft account password or your payment details.
  • Microsoft provides us with license and entitlement information so the app can confirm your PRO access, along with aggregated reports such as install counts, crash reports, ratings, and reviews.
  • Billing, cancellations, and refunds for Microsoft Store purchases are managed by Microsoft through your Microsoft account.

6. Website Analytics & Cookies

Our website uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use typing365.app, for example which pages are visited and how people navigate the site. These tools may set cookies or use similar technologies and collect information such as your IP address, browser, device, and interactions with our pages. We use this information in aggregate to improve the website.

7. Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Typing 365, and only as needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Paddle: website checkout, payments, subscriptions, and tax compliance.
  • Microsoft: app distribution and purchases through the Microsoft Store, and website analytics through Clarity.
  • Google: website analytics.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: to store data and operate our services securely.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.

8. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except for records we must keep to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Transaction records held by Paddle or Microsoft are retained under their own policies.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest. However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
